How to Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4

Insert the Rhel 5.4 dvd and boot the system

Press "Enter" key to boot in GUI Mode

Select "SKIP" option



Press "Next" Button

Press "Next" Button

Enter the Installation key and press enter

Select "Create custom Layout" for allocating space

Press "New" button and select the Mount point "/boot" and give 500MB for Boot loader

 Allocate 8000MB for swap and other space for "/" system.

 Allocate sdb 50GB for "/u01" Mountpoint

Now select the Ethernet device and assign the IP address.

Select the Time Zone  and press "Next" button

Enter the Passwd and Press "Next" button

To select the Packages click "customize now" button and press "Next"

Select the Packages

Press "Next" button to start the Installation

Installation was Started

Installation was Completed Press"Reboot" button to restart the Server.

After Reboot the Welcome Screen Appear press "Forward" Button.

Select "I agree" the Agreement and Press"Forward" Button.

Disable the Firewall and Selinux.

Press "Forward" button

Select "NO" option and press "Forward" button

Press "Forward" Button

Create User for super user and press "Forward"

Press "Forward" button to continue

Press " Finish" button to complete the Installation.

After we press the Finish button it will reboot.

 

Enter the Username and Passwd to login
